Post 6: Sexism shown in a fiction character that i love

Mulan is a young Chinese woman who dresses as a soldier to replace her father in the war. Throughout the film, she is criticized for behaving differently from the stereotype of a woman of the time, to the point of considering her incapable of having children because she is very thin. What I liked most about Mulan when I first saw her with my sisters was that she was not the typical female character of the animated films of that time. She was not a princess and did not need to be rescued, on the contrary, she was in charge of fighting the bad guys. But although the protagonist breaks with sexist stereotypes, the film exposes examples constantly. In one of the songs (  A Girl Worth Fighting For ) the secondary characters, friends of Mulan, describe how their ideal girl should be: good cook, beautiful, affectionate, etc. For that reason I have considered that the film is an attempt to break with the typical but even includes sexisms.

Post 5: The story of a picture

This summer we went on vacation to the mountains with my dad. My parents are divorced and I see him a few times a year, but when he's on vacation, we always go out together. Five years ago we made the first trip to "Aguas Calientes" and we went with my cousin, my nephew and also my brother-in-law. But this year in febraury was the first time we were alone. Our trip lasted more than a week, we climbed the mountain range on horseback, camped under the stars and almost reached the border with Argentina. The photograph is of when we were returning through the Atacalco sector. It was a very special trip because we both learned from each other. My father always taught me the things necessary to survive: lighting a fire, a good place to sleep, etc. That's why I take every opportunity to travel with him to always learn more.

Post 4: Childhood series

When I was a kid I watched a lot of television. In my house we didn't have cable TV,   but the national channels began to broadcast the cartoons of Disney Channel, Cartoon Netwworks and Nickelodeon on open television. The ones I remember the most with love are Dora: the explorer and Baby Looney Tunes. Dora because I was so innocent   that I answered the questions she asked me, my sisters still bother me because I talked to the television. And to the Baby Looney Tunes because with my mother we got up early to see those cartoons together, she loved them and we sang the songs together. In addition to foreign productions, I liked national cartoons like 31 minutes or Diego and Glot, it saddens me that they no longer broadcast them on televisión because they were very entertaining.

Post 3: My favourite piece of technology

I had not realized how important hearing aids were to me until the day I left them in my hometown, Chillán. Without the hearing aids, all my routine in Santiago changed. The trip to go to college, the bus ride and walking down the street without music became boring. In the days that I was without hearing aids, I felt that I needed to have them again, I missed them at all times. As I could not immediately recover mine, I bought some new ones. When I thought about technology, I always came up with other types of objects, but thanks to this involuntary experiment, I realized how much I like to listen to music with headphones because I use them every day and how important they have become for me.
